Comments: At 3:03 pm a black bear was spotted crossing our backyard, across Gunhouse St into the north side of Deborah Sampson Park and in the general direction of the dog park.

Multiple black bear sightings have been reported in Sharon over the past few years.

Black bears are not normally aggressive unless their cubs are threatened, but they can run considerably faster than an Olympic sprinter and are quite capable of mauling a human, so keep your distance.
